Advanced Teacher Training

This 1-day advanced training practicum is open to anyone who has completed ChildLight Yoga's Basic Training.  Instructors who seek to build and strengthen their skills for teaching yoga and yoga-related concepts to children will delve deeper into their techniques for teaching while learning some new activities as well. An environment of sharing, networking, and constructive critique and support will facilitate further growth and improved teaching skills.

Our time together will focus on practice teaching, sharing and group discussions.  An introduction to working with specific groups such as special needs children and middle schoolers will be covered, as well as marketing and business topics including mobile enrichment, birthday parties and other areas of interest. 

Certified CLY Instructors who complete the advanced training will gain designation as such on our Instructors Page.

CEUs, PDPs, and Yoga Alliance credit hours:
Participants who complete the ChildLight Yoga Teacher Trainings are eligible to receive CEUs from the University of Southern Maine (USM).  Please notify us in advance if a form is required to receive CEUs.  A $20 processing fee is payable with the application directly to USM.
 
Registered yoga teachers are eligible for continuing education contact hours through Yoga Alliance.
 
Professional Development Points (PDPs) may also be available through your employer. 
As each credentialing organization has their own requirements, you should confirm with them that your training hours will apply toward your degree or continuing education requirements.  Application for accreditation from these organizations is your responsibility. Additional fees may be required.
Note:  A required reading list (to be completed prior to the training weekend) and other pertinent  training details will be provided upon receipt of  completed application and deposit. ChildLight Yoga reserves the right to postpone a training with less than 8 students enrolled.
